On August 26, ALTECH completed the deployment of the new fleet management and control system for monitoring and controlling the mobility of the Sant Boi de Llobregat City Council’s vehicle fleet and its three municipal companies (CORESSA, CLAUS, and IGUALSSOM).
The new project, led by the municipal company CLAUS, has the main objective of optimizing the use and decarbonizing the municipal vehicle fleet, which consists of nearly 200 vehicles of different types.
The Sant Boi City Council, through a public bidding process promoted by CLAUS, has entrusted ALTECH with the development and installation of an intelligent fleet optimization solution for the municipal vehicle fleet (Municipal Brigade, Local Police, CORESSA, CLAUS, IGUALSSOM, etc.).
The new fleet management system will allow the city council to have greater control over fleet activity, automatically and reliably obtaining the real-time location of all its vehicles, as well as relevant data and information on maintenance status, daily vehicle use, fuel consumption, driving styles, and more.
All the information generated by the vehicles can be managed easily and intuitively from a web application. Among the many features of this application, the following stand out:
- Real-time and historical view of each vehicle’s route
- Advanced system alert management
- Report generation (manual or automatic)
- View of key indicators and metrics
- Driver management
- Maintenance inspection management
In addition to more efficient fleet management, the new system will reduce CO2 emissions from the vehicle fleet and create a more sustainable fleet. The information provided by the new applications will allow decisions to be made based on environmental criteria, such as reducing the use of, or even replacing, vehicles with higher emissions or higher fuel consumption.
Finally, it is also worth highlighting the important operational advantages this new system provides. Analysis of the data obtained will provide an in-depth understanding of the effective use of vehicles, thus facilitating decision-making to reduce or expand the number of vehicles in certain departments, or even to consider car-sharing solutions in cases where the data obtained indicates the suitability of this solution.
